Another great geneaology presentation.
Now both presentations have been full houses! We had a mix of beginners and experienced folks in genealogy.
Lisa Dougherty gave a great presentation this past Monday night down at The Record Community Media Lab on locating a place of origin for your Irish ancestors. Of course, she mentioned sources at the National Archives in the USA, but she gave many sources online. I've started using some of the links on my computer at home (which explains the delay in this post!).
Also, her presentation was a nice compliment to the one by Jean Nudd.
You can see Tom Caprood's blog posting about Lisa's presentation, and find a link for a video of the entire presenation, at:

Or You can see Tom Caprood's blog posting about Lisa's presentation, including a video of the entire thing, at:

Stay tuned to this blog, because a new posting will feature an interview with Lisa Dougherty.

Jean Nudd's Presentation
We just came back from the presentation by Jean Nudd at the Troy Record Community Media Lab. Her title for her presentation was, "Finding Your Irish Ancestors at the National Archives". Jean is a dynamic speaker with a wealth of information. She did a great job conveying a ton of resources, telling anecdotes, answering questions. My head is spinning with ideas and information.
I was told we had 51 attendees. Great questions.
I learned there is a Troy Irish Genealogy Society, so I'll have more about that group later.
I'll post links to the video and other resources, so stay tuned.
